So Marcus, tell us a bit about what you do?

I teach charisma skills, which add up to a way to behave that makes you more confident in and happy with yourself, and makes you the kind of person that makes the people around you feel good about themselves and have fun. To my knowledge, it is the only program of its kind.

What’s at the core of charisma training?

Leaving everyone you meet better off and getting used to being yourself, not worrying what people think about you. I’m a geek and I don’t pretend I’m not, and people love me for being a geek!

Oh? What’s geeky about you?

I love old, retro computer games, top trumps, comic books, 80s cartoons and TV shows like Transformers. I like making bows and arrows and building little dams over streams. I like geography and how landscapes are shaped. People have been know to roll their eyes when I talk about how rivers mould the surface of the Earth or how the tectonic plates are rebounding following the last ice age. I like fancy dress parties; I love dressing up in daft costumes such as Mexicans, Werewolves and other daft themes. I especially love Fireworks on fireworks night – I’m just a big kid!

How did you get into this kind of thing?

I’m just a regular guy who was gloomy one day when I was sat at work. All the girls were talking about a really charismatic guy who worked there. This guy was nothing special in the looks department, but boy, when people talked to him he’d make them light up and feel good about themselves, and I couldn’t work out what it was that he’d say to them that was so different to what I was saying.

So you decided to find out what it was?

Yes. It was something subtle in the way he was acting, he connected with people really quickly. He was making people smile. I decided from that point, perhaps six or seven years ago, to try and distil what he was doing because I wasn’t happy in my life in the way I connected with others. I mean, I had friends and had fun but the way I acted didn’t always fit with how I felt in my head. For instance I might see a beautiful girl in a bar and want to talk to her, but would be so afraid she wouldn’t like me I never even tried.

That’s pretty common though, isn’t it?

Yeah, though sometimes I tried but got shot down by her reaction. At the end of my second year in university I was looking at this girl in the bar, and my friend bet me a pint I wouldn’t ask her for her number. For some reason, I couldn’t resist the challenge even though it terrified me, so I plucked up all my courage and I walked over to her – I can see her right now. As I walked up to her I knocked my drink on the floor and it smashed, which didn’t help!

“Hey, let me get your telephone number.” She looked at me and said “No.”

I was absolutely devastated and I turned bright red and walked away. My friend just shook my hand and laughed. He still owes me the pint actually!

Ouch!

So anyway, I found myself on the dating scene and met a lot of girls who I’d have a great time with when I finally plucked up the courage to talk to them but they always saw me just as a friend. I was getting fed up and frustrated, all these people coming into my life, and although I felt like a great guy they weren’t seeing me as a great guy. I’d be in conversations with people but be left out of them, especially when someone else joined, or I’d be uncomfortable at parties and get this knot in my stomach. And I think this affects a lot of people.

But remember, there’s this charming guy from before who didn’t have these problems, he had this glow, this quality about him. He would talk to people about all manner of things, right of the bat! So I decided to investigate, to find out what makes some guys normal and other guys able to just connect with people.

So what did you do?

I dived right into it! I met people from all around the world and heard lots of different theories. Psychologist, hypnotists, people who learnt behavioural mannerisms, body language experts; they all had different ideas about what this spark was that allowed you to connect with someone, but it kept coming back to the same thing, it kept coming back to charisma.

And what did you learn about charisma?

I started to talk to people anywhere and everywhere. I began to hang around charismatic people themselves. Over time I found I could break down all the behaviours and attitudes I saw in charismatic people, and I found that charisma was about five core traits: attitude; spontaneity; charm; stillness and the ability to bond with people.

Tell me us little about those.

Having the right attitude is really important as without it you’ll never be sexy or exciting, you’ll never be a leader. Spontaneity helps you and other people around you to enjoy  living in the moment and have fun. Charm is about making the people you meet feel comfortable just being themselves with you. Stillness is the idea that you should be emotionally unreactive to the moods of others and bonding gives you a real connection with other people, and lets them feel that they can trust you.

How do you teach all this to a person?

Well, each of these things can be implemented by picking up the right habits. Its all about habit. I firmly believe that you can’t change who you are, your essence, but you can change your habits and behaviours. When I started to learn I made myself get into the habit of smiling at strangers, just at everyone I met. Little habits like that go a long way.

Is it hard to learn?

Teaching yourself new habits sounds tough, but that’s usually because most habits you try to learn for your own good are mundane and aren’t much fun. I look for ways to make the habits I teach fun – although smiling at and talking to strangers sounds daunting at first, after a little while it gets really enjoyable; the more you do it, the more you start to get out of it. The secret to being charismatic is finding things you love and filling your life with them. The more you do this the stronger your identity and your belief in yourself becomes.

Why do you choose to teach charisma?

There are two main reasons. Firstly, the most fun I ever had was meeting new people and having adventures with them, and I wouldn’t be able to do that if I didn’t have the confidence to go up to and talk to them them, and have fun with them. Secondly I see a lot of pain and frustration in people who aren’t happy because they’re so shy or uncomfortable dealing with people, and I know what that’s like. It doesn’t have to be that way,  and I know that if I can do it, anyone can.

Getting your Ex back is doable, i have done it a few times, however many men do not do it correctly , so much so that they blow any possible chance that they may have had  to get her back. You may only get one shot so please take it when you do.

Now every case is different but i have some handy hints that can help get that girl back in your life and ensure that you do not make the common mistakes that most men do:

 1.Dont Stalk or Chase her- If she has dumped you…let her go. Act like you dont really give a shit and that you are already enjoying the fruits of other women. The fact that you are not bothered will get to her and she will send you that “ive made a huge mistake” text int he next couple of months. I know it is hard and that you will want to reach for the  phone or hang out near her apartment, but trust me act like you do not really mind that she dumped you and you will have her back in the palm of your hand in next to no time.

2. Don’t Stay in- Don’t wallow in your own misery, call your buddies and get out of the house. You dont have to go and pull women but doing other cool things will get her off your mind… and you may get laid from it!

3. Get a new Scene- Go buy sme new clothes, get a different hair cut, try a new cool activity. Maybe she dumped you cause you were not cool enough for her. However she will want you back when she sees the new cool you!

4. Go out on lots of dates- Im not saying lower your standards, but get dating again. This will not only get you laid but also increase your confidence in women and yourself.

5. Go do all the things that she hated- She is gone, so go do all the things that she hated you doing. A) it will make you feel better that you are having all this fun and it is due to not having her in your life, but b) when she does want you back you may not let you do that stuff again.

“Give me the lines, just give me this pick up lines”,

This is the most common question that  a student will ask me whenever we meet.

The opener is the first thing that a girl will judge a guy on, it is so important, as this first 5 seconds will determine whenver he gets another 2 minutes to see if he is a suitable partner or whether he is tossed to the side at the first hurdle.

I just want to run through a few ideas and misconceptions that i have about opening and Pick Up lines.

I get asked all the time on what lines i use when i approach women. This questions always gets me as i dont have one simple line that i use in each situation, as like women, each set is different.

When determining your opening line or routine you should think:

1.Who is the girl that i am opening:

Is she Young or Old, Posh or Creative, Emo or Hip Hop? Although that you wont know exactly what she is like from just her looks it will give you a good idea of what she is like and thus you should tailor your opener to it

2: What is the situation

Are you on the Bus,in a crowded street, Supermarket, Airplane or in a Restaurant?

The actual location of where the set will take place will also have great significance on what successful opener is used.

3. How long can i afford to spend chatting to this girl

Are you on your lunch break, rushing to a meeting or simply having a lazy stroll around the park on a sunday, the amount of time

that you can spend in the set will also have great impact.

Sitatuion :  You are waiting for a tube in the Underground and you see an attractive business woman in a Prada suit waiting on the platform, what would you do?

Well here you have a mature lady who has some money, you are waiting in a very confined public space and you are both waiting for the same train to arrive.

Firstly this would tell me that i do not want to play this too slowly as the tube may arrive at any time and she will board the train. What i would do would be to open with a fairly unthreatening and overtly direct opener (due to it being a public closed confined space) as you do not want to come over too strong and scare her off. The tube arriving would also concern me, and i would have looked to  have opened and then hooked and be chatting to her about another topic before we both boarded the same carriage. The fact that she is a business woman should not play too much but you should be aware of a engagement/wedding ring, and i would not come in with an immature opener that she may be offended or may reflect badly on you.

Opener Example: Hey i know that there are some delays on the tube today and i need to get to X for a meeting, do you know what the best route to get there is?

I opened a woman recently with this opener,it was fairly short, she suggested a route (make sure the route that she will say is going to be going her way,for example don’t ask her for the directions to some where in South London if you are standing on the North platform), i managed to get response and then through another thread and got her talking about her suit before the train came, and following a few compliments we boarded the same carriage where it did not feel creepy and i was able to close her on the tube.

the wrong way to go about this would be to open with a very direct opener commenting on her looks/dress/that i found her hot. These lines may work better with younger girls but not really with classy business women, also with the hot cramped station  you dont want her to become claustrophobic or be embarrassed of what other people may think of her. If you open with a very direct line she may be embarrassed that other people have heard you open her in such manner making it a lot more difficult to ask for her number or an instant date.

Don’t say a line that she may have heard before even if you think you are being clever.

No i am not talking about saying something that your dad would have said in the 80’s, i mean using common lines that she may have heard hundreds of times before.

I used to date this Swedish girl who was very tall and had the blondest hair , she once told me that on any night out at least 5 guys would come up to her and say ” i love you blonde hair”, or some thing along those lines.My point is here when you see a girl that has a really distinctive feature think twice before using this as your opening line.

Just Bad line: Dont use them

Using Old school lines like ” Get your coat love you’ve pulled,or Did you hurt yourself when you fell from heaven” will have negative connotations associated with it. Now i do want to stress that any line can work as it is all based on your body language and tonality however if you are not a Pro who has properly mastered all of this i would suggest playing it safe.

I saw a terrible advert for Vodafone recently where a man spies an attractive girl at the bar and does not know what to say, so he texts his mates and gets two terrible lines confused, and then goes up to the girl and says “grab a goat you’ve pulled” she laughs as do all her friends and he laughs to and they probably go home and have sex in 5 minutes.

What ever you do DONT LISTEN TO THIS ADVERT! It is so wrong and i dont know any hot girl or her mates who would ever react like this in real life.

Refrain from using Neil’s Lines:

The Game by Neill Strauss is one of the best selling books for all Western Males in the age categories of 16-35. Most men who have read that book have gone out and used those lines such as the Two 80’s Dogs and Who lies more. Unfortunately girls dont like the fact that us men have literature to help meet women, i mean they have hundreds but most girls are not too  happy to hear that i have read the game. I remember meeting a friend once who used the 80’s Dogs line in a Bar in London and these girls literally started laughing and said knew that was from The Game. Please read the Game, it is a great book if you have not read it , just dont going using all the lines from it as it could kill a set in the first 2 seconds.

Just be yourself?

If you are so nervous and can not think of anything to say, do just be yourself  and in that sense just go with the flow, i feel that by asking a standard opener you will come across very average, but saying some thing is always better than saying nothing,however please refrain from asking her name or asking to buy her a drink.

Books are an incredible source of information.  Whatever you want to learn, chances are, an expert in that field has produced a well-written book on that topic. 

1) Robert Cialdini – Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion

The six weapons of influence are pure gold.  This book is also quite short which is always a bonus

I decided I wanted to learn more about Body Language.  So I picked up

2) James Borg  – Body Language: 7 Easy Lessons to Master the Silent Language

I thought the information was interesting and well presented, but as it’s the only book I’ve read exclusively about body language I can’t vouch for it being the best.  The reviews on amazon aren’t great apart from one guy who says it really helped him with girls.  This information takes some proper “work” to digest, learn and apply.  If anyone can recommend a better book on the subject I would be very interested.

3) Robert Greene – The 48 Laws of Power

This is essential reading.  Also the historical examples that Greene uses make the book a joy to read.

4) David J Lieberman – Never be lied to again

You could just read the opening section, which list common types of lie and how to spot them.  In about an hour you will have learnt a great deal.  The rest of the book is definitely worth reading.  There are a lot of tricks for getting the truth out of people, one of which I remember being stung with in the past!  You can polish off this book in a day or two.

In my experience the g spot area has always had a great reaction.  However this study suggests that not every girl has one.  So don’t worry too much if stimulating that area doesn’t get a reaction.  Always remember that every pussy is different, it doesn’t hurt to ask a girl how she likes it!

I can remember growing up I really sucked at telling if a girl was interested in me.  My first sort-of girlfriend (I was 14) had been calling me every day (home phone, this was before mobiles!) for about 2 weeks before I worked it out.  However much more painful is the memories of the times when my feelings weren’t reciprocated, I cringe even thinking about it now.

Nowadays I can tell very quickly with a pretty high degree of accuracy whether I’m “in” or not.  It’s almost subconscious. It almost feels like a “Heroes’ style super power.  This is something I think anyone can develop with enough practise because I started right at the bottom on this one.   But to help you along the road here are a few things to look for in the early stages of an interaction.

Not interested

Now for anyone starting out I would not recommend ditching sets early.  If you are engaging women in a conversation and you keep on making excuses within in a couple of minutes then you are giving yourself no way to succeed.  Its best to keep going and ignore that voice telling you to run. I often see students open a set, get a conversation going and then leave for no reason.   Now after a bit more practise you can prioritise time management.  Obviously you need to be spending time on girls that you are interested in and look likely to reciprocate.  Personally I sometimes ditch a set after the opener if I can tell it is going to be a waste of time.  These are some of the warning signs.

Poor English/ No common language – really, why bother?

Revolted facial expression – sometimes girls pull a certain face, as if they’d just eaten poo or something.  Some girls just don’t want to talk to  you.  Deal with it.  They’ve done  you a favour and saved you some time.

“This is too easy feeling” – watch out when a girl is really easy to talk to and shows no signs of nervousness at all, she may well have a boyfriend.  If you were really pressed for time  you could just ask.

Body language – read a good book about body language.  It will prove worth your time.  Are her feet pointing away from you? (this is bad)  How close to you is she sitting?  If you go for a light finger touch how does she react?

She goes quiet – She doesn’t say anything unless you ask her a direct question.  This is not good if you’ve just opened.  You could maybe try and offer her a get out.  It could turn out she doesn’t want you to leave and is just shy. 

Interested

-A lot has been written about IOI’s (indicators of interest) so I won’t try for a comprehensive list.  These are just a few that are easy to spot.

-Good kino (touching), she doesn’t back away.  If she makes moves to touch you this is great.  If she sits or stands close to you it is also a good sign. 

-She asks you questions about yourself.

-She laughs at your jokes.

-She teases you back if you tease her.

-She plays with her hair.

Conclusion

In practise determining if a girl is interested in you requires balancing conflicting signals and filling in the gaps when you aren’t getting any.  It’s just another reason why the best advice I can give you is to get out there and you will find its just another issue that will resolve itself with enough practice.
